Paris-based black metal duo ZËLOT announce the release of their 4-track debut EP « Supplices » this November 11th on Chien Noir, and present a first excerpt with their hypnotic « Chrysalide » video.
ZËLOT is two devoted members of the murky Parisian underground delivering raw and old school black metal. About the debut single theme, the band comments: « The lyrics of Chrysalide deal with the passage from unconscious to conscious and the existential pain that is chemically but naturally tempered by the brain or, in this case, mushrooms. In the end, consciousness will be the only witchcraft in our lifetime and will probably prevent us from reaching spiritual enlightenment.«

ZËLOT is a project born from a shared passion for the ’90s black metal scene. Two musicians from different backgrounds, NZ (Krv/DDENT/Les Tigres du Futur/Fiend) and OD (Maudits/Throane/Ovtrenoir/Krv), joined forces in spontaneously writing the EP, with no intentions other than enjoying the process of crafting their own blend of melancholy, hatred, and cold melodies. Vocals, bass and keys were recorded by Louis Lambert (DDENT, NNRA) at the Putridity Chamber. Guitars and drums were recorded by Sylvain Masure at Le Chalet Studios Mixed and mastered by Sylvain Masure at Le Chalet Studios. Drum sessions performed by Christophe Hiegel. Artwork was designed by Guillaume Ringaud.
